Medical visa for India from Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is on India's e-Visa eligible list, so you may apply online for an e-Medical visa — or use the paper Medical (MED) visa if it suits your route better.
Processing time
Not published by the Tashkent mission, which lists only counter hours — applications 09:30–12:30 Monday to Friday, collection 15:30–16:00. The general rule is a minimum of three working days.
Validity
Paper MED: up to 6 months (single or multiple entry) or 6 months to 1 year (multiple). Uzbekistan is excluded from the default six-month triple-entry option. For the e-Medical visa the official sources conflict — the portal table says 365 days, its FAQ says 60 days, and the mission page says 2 months. Confirm on your grant letter.

Medical attendant visa
Up to two attendants, and only people actually accompanying the patient. The attendant pays the same fee as the patient. Proof of relationship is required, though no specific degree of relationship is prescribed.

Uzbekistan is not on India's yellow fever endemic list and not on the polio-affected list.

The hospital invitation letter
Tashkent is unusually strict and requires BOTH a recommendation letter from your local doctor AND an invitation from the Indian hospital. The Uzbek letter must state the Indian doctor's name, the Indian hospital address, the appointment date, and the passport number, nationality and names of patient and attendant. The Indian letter must state the type and duration of treatment plus the same identity details.

FRRO registration
Not mentioned by the Tashkent mission. The general rule applies: register within 14 days of arrival only if your visa is valid for more than 180 days. Children under 12 are exempt.
There is an emergency medical visa route
In a medical emergency, Uzbek nationals may email the consular section in Tashkent with supporting documents after submitting the online application. The mission does not publish the documents, fee or timeline for this route, so contact them directly.
