Documents Required
e-Medical Visa Eligible Countries
Citizens of most countries can apply for the e-Medical Visa online. Some cannot — always check your own country's guide below before applying, because a wrong application wastes weeks.
Not eligible for the e-Medical Visa
Patients from these countries must apply for the paper Medical (MED) visa at the Indian mission — an online application will not work.
Important Tips
Apply early
Start visa process at least 2–3 weeks before planned travel.
Hospital letter is key
The invitation letter from the hospital is the most important document. We handle this.
Carry originals
Always carry original medical reports. Some embassies need originals, not photocopies.
e-Visa is fastest
If your country is eligible, e-Medical Visa is processed in 3–5 days.
Don't apply on tourist visa
Medical treatment on a tourist visa is not recommended. Always get a proper medical visa.
Attendant visa
Up to 2 attendants (family members) can get a Medical Attendant Visa alongside your medical visa.
Visa guide for your country
Fees, documents, attendant rules and processing times differ a great deal by nationality. These guides use the rules published by the Indian mission in each country.
